Go to Elena Gallegos Park.  To get to the park take I 40 to Tramway, then north to the enterance road for the park.  Look for the sign and take a right turn off Tramway just after crossing Academy Blvd.  Upon arriving at the park enterance there may be a charge of $1-2 per car to park.  You may also wish to pick up a map of the area.  Turn right, proceeding on the park road around the perimeter of the vehicular area.  Turn left and left again, passing several parking areas and a pit toilet.  Keep going until you reach the far northeast corner.  There is another pit toilet flanked by parking areas.  Park here.  Follow the numbered nature trail to the left.  You will walk between two picnic shelters.  Stay on the nature trail, crossing an arroyo (gulley) until you rach an oasis of cottonwood trees and a bird blind.  From the bird blind follow the paved path to the west.  You will come to an observation deck.  Walk to the end of the deck and admire the gread view of Albuquerque, especially at sunset.  You are now standing above Los Vaqueros.  Dunkproductions 2002Go
